Things to do when you return

You should make a posttravel appointment with your travel clinic if...

Mosquitos and Malaria

>  You have spent 3 months or more in a developing country1
>  You were told that you had or were suspected to have malaria1-3
>  You have malaria signs and symptoms: fever, chills, muscle ache, or headache,
especially during the first weeks of your return from an area where malaria is
    prevalent1-3
>  You were treated or hospitalized for any medical illness1,2
>  You continue to have any unusual, ongoing symptoms1
>  Your activities while overseas exposed you to increased health risks (if you are a
health-care worker, veterinarian, spelunker, or archaeologist)1

Health tip
Some diseases such as malaria may not become apparent until after you return from your trip.1 You may require a posttravel checkup. Visit your doctor or travel clinic immediately if you develop any signs of illness, especially within the first 2 months of your return.
